Nathan Kress is an American actor, director, and former child model best known for his breakout role as Freddie Benson on the Nickelodeon series iCarly. Born on November 18, 1992, in Glendale, California, Kress has grown from a child performer into a multifaceted talent both in front of and behind the camera.

Early Life and Family Background

Nathan Karl Kress was raised in Southern California alongside his two older brothers, Andrew and Kevin. Interestingly, unlike Nathan, neither of his brothers pursued careers in entertainment. From as young as three years old, Nathan showed a remarkable ability to memorize and recite lines from movies and television, prompting his parents to enroll him in modeling and commercial gigs.

By the age of six, he voiced characters like Easy and Tough Pup in Babe: Pig in the City (1998). Despite early success, he paused his acting career to focus on school but returned to show business a few years later after realizing his passion for performance hadn’t faded.

Career Breakthrough with iCarly

Nathan’s return to acting began with appearances in sketch comedies and minor TV roles, including a memorable skit on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and a guest spot on Drake & Josh.
